So far, there has been only one Jo at the Chalet School – the inimitable Jo Bettany – now Jo Maynard and the proud mamma of eight. The first summer term the school spends in the Oberland, however, sees the arrival of a new Jo, Joey’s unofficial goddaughter and namesake, and the child of an old Tyrolean acquaintance. Jo Scott is not in the least like her ‘unofficial’ godmother except in her pluck and unselfishness, but she has her own qualities which bring her an invitation to join The Gang and one exciting event gains for her a coveted prize at the end of her first term.
Lisa Townsend has written a short story for Kenya called Sue's Longest Week
