Rubbing to edges and corners bumped.  Covers creased and torn.  Spine faded.  Name written in pencil in book belongs to box.

Half a ton of gold has been stolen from the Australian outback without a trace being left on the desert sands.

As Biggles says "No government can afford to lose that much gold".  So he flies off to Australia in search of a clue - any clue - but a toothpick wrapper and a button don't seem much to go on.  Yet the unconquerable Biggles spreads his net over the French Riviera and the burning Sahara, where he gets wind of his old enemy von Stalhein and "The White Prophets of Peace."  They do their best to discourage Biggles' investigation, but hijacking, sabotage and cold-blooded attemps at murder don't stop him ...
