Judy and Philippa Fraser, about to return to Vernley, explain to their sympathetic brothers some school difficutlies. Their school is divided into two houses, Drake and Raleigh. They belong to the former, which is going through a bad time - beaten at everything by their rivals. Judy is Drake's head prefect, Phil a bit of harum-scarum, but brother John inspires them both to change the situation at Vernley.
