Patricia Caldwell wrote the first two Vivians titles in the 1950s, and then three more in the 1990s and 2000s, which were privately published.
Head Girl at Vivians is the story of Lesley Trevor, now leader of the school. With the Upper Sixth firmly behind her, it seemed likely that her rule would be an easier one than that of her predecessor, Chris Rivers, but once again Lesley is destined to encounter - and surmount - overwhelming difficulties. The temporary Head disliked Lesley from their first meeting in Miss Gordan’s study. Jean Cameron was strangely reluctant to become a senior and certain members of the Lower Sixth were determined that some of Lesley’s escapades last year should not be forgiven.
Patricia Caldwell is now Patricia Turner and it is under this name that she regularly writes for fanzines such as Folly. She has written a brand new introduction to Head Girl at Vivians for this GGBP edition.
