Here We Go Round is not a Bodley Head career novel, but perhaps it should have been - it is one of the best career stories ever written.
The story tells of Mary McBride’s first year as a helper in a Nursery Class. Life is full of bustle and surprises with thirty five children to look after. Summer Street School has its infant tough guys, and its dirty, naughty children as well as its endearing ones.
The book is extremely realistic, and as with all of Mabel Esther Allan’s books, the reader is right there so that all of Mary’s problems and joys become those of the reader too.
We shall be including a short story written by MEA.
