The New Girl at Melling

Spine and corners bumped.

Spring term at Melling School, and Roddy Blake is sure that “nothing will happen at all”, for spring terms are so often dull. But life is always fun for the friendly Blake and Lacey families and of course Melling, with its tender-hearted headmistress, is a wonderful school at any time!

Roddy is busy, too, as editor of the school magazine, to which even her younger sister Susan contributes in her gay and original way, although she is very busy raising money to buy a bicycle for her best friend Laura Lacey. Laura gets her bicycle, for Susan’s methods are surprisingly fruitful as well as amusing.

Then Anne finds her peace and happiness, and a deep affection for her aunts – and so all ends well in this delightful addition to the much-loved series of books by Margaret Biggs.
