Spine and corners bumped.
This was one of Mabel Esther Allan’s first titles, being published by Sylvan Press in 1948. It is incredibly rare in this edition, and has never been reprinted until now. The Wyndhams go sailing in the fishing boar, Y Wyddfa, mending nets and painting lobster pots, cycling down the coast roads, boating on the mountain lake, singing Welsh songs, meeting a mysterious shepherd, and climbing Mount Snowdon. This is one of the author’s most lovely family stories, and we are very pleased to be including an uncollected short story, Trouble with Sydney, about the Wyndhams in their London home, set just after this holiday in Wales. We cannot pretend to love this cover, nor the inside illustrations, but they were favourites of the author, and perhaps others will love them too!
